Solar Ovens
When I teach kids to make solar ovens, I like to have them figure out what design they think will work best. I teach them roughly how a solar oven works, have them bring their own box from home (size and shape of their own choosing), give them tinfoil and plastic wrap, then let them build what they have designed. Each family worked as a team and they had a race to see whose design could melt a s’more first.
